Annuity Suitability Approved in Kansas and Michigan

February 15, 2013 – A.D. Banker & Company, the national leader in classroom and online continuing education and insurance licensing, is proud to announce their Kansas 4 Hour Annuity Suitability self-study and online and classroom CE courses have been approved and meet the state’s one-time, four (4) hour annuity training course requirement. This course is available immediately for resident CE credit.  Michigan’s self-study and online courses have also been approved to meet their agent education requirement.

Kansas and Michigan brokers and producers licensed before 6/1/2013 must complete a 4 hour annuity course no later than 12/1/2012. Those licensed after that 6/1/2013 must complete the course prior to selling, soliciting or negotiating  

Both Kansas and Michigan adopted the NAIC Suitability in Annuity Transactions Model Regulation recommendation. This Model Regulation set national standards and procedures for suitable annuity recommendations and requires insurers to establish a system to supervise recommendations so that the insurance needs and financial objectives of consumers are appropriately addressed.
