California Insurance Exam Scheduling Changes

Subject:  California insurance exam scheduling changes effective March 7th 2011

 

The PSI Company, headquartered in Burbank, California, has been awarded the contract to begin administering the California insurance licensing exams.  PSI will begin taking exam reservations on March 7, 2011 for exams April 2, 2011 and after.  PSI has been selected by the California Department of Insurance to provide the following services:

·         Replace the current online exam scheduler;

·         Replace the current examination software;

·         Develop and maintain examination pass reports;

·         Organize and facilitate periodic review of CDI’s examination questions by subject matter experts and psychometricians;

·         Allow individuals to take the examination at any of the contractor’s sites for an additional fee to be paid to the contractor; and

·         Collect demographic data (voluntarily) from examinees specific to gender, education level, and ethnicity.

Annuity Suitability Approved in AR, CO, IA, OK, TX and WI

February 18, 2011 – A.D. Banker & Company announces their 4-Hour Annuity Suitability Course that meets the NAIC Suitability in Annuity Transaction Model Regulation.   

The new course satisfies the initial annuity certification for all producers by providing a complete overview of current annuity regulations and recent law changes.  Emphasis will be placed on the overriding need for the ethical treatment of seniors and the agents' duty to follow responsible sales practices with customer and product suitability as their main focus. 

The four (4) hour annuity training course is available online or self-study and is currently approved in Arkansas, Colorado, Iowa, Oklahoma, Texas and Wisconsin.

New Ethics courses to CE library

January 10, 2011 – A.D. Banker & Company adds new Ethics CE courses to library.

Two new self-study courses were added to the A.D. Banker & Company Continuing Education library.

  • Ethics for the Life & Health Producer
  • Ethics for the Property & Casualty Producer 

 

These courses in Ethics begins with history and philosophy.  Readers first define ethics, then learn about the development, theories and applications of an ethical value system and how important it is to base business decisions in the insurance industry on sound ethical principles of doing the right thing, every time.

These courses are currently approved in Kansas, but will be submitted to all states with an Ethics requirement in the upcoming months.
